Get the right one, every time.

We know that keeping your equipment running is a priority. Nothing slows down a project like receiving a replacement product that won’t work.

Sometimes this occurs with XXT adapter plates. While they look similar at a glance, the secret to identifying them is in the position of the carbide spheres on the top surface.

Here’s a quick guide that can help you identify the right one for you.

The Sphere Test

  • To properly identify your plate, look at the arrangement of the carbide spheres on the surface where the plate attaches to the XXT probe head.
  • TL1 XXT-ID Adapter Plate: Note the side-by-side, stacked position of the two carbide spheres at the 12 o'clock position. This plate fits TL1 probe heads.

  • TL3 XXT-ID Adapter Plate: Note the space between the two carbide spheres at the 12 o'clock position. This plate fits TL3 probe heads.

Using the incorrect plate can lead to error messages and delays.
