Useful Information

Cube Squared
In one minute or less, our exclusive Cube Squared squares up VAST and VAST-XT adapter plate cubes to the CMM axis. No other tools needed. It's fast, accurate, and unconditionally guaranteed. Download our step-by-step guide below.

Thread Size Guide
Which is the correct thread size for your machine? Choose your thread size based on your sensor type: Renishaw, Zeiss, Fowler, Leitz, Sip or Tesa.

Sphere Grade Guide
How spherical is a sphere? If you're in the measurement business, you'd better know. The American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA) ranks precision spheres by grade number. At Q-Mark, we use only grade 5 or 10 spheres on our catalog styli.

Silicon Nitride Styli
In 2003, United States Patent 6,609,308 was awarded to Q-Mark for drilled silicon nitride balls. Silicon nitride is an extremely hard hybrid ceramic (Si3N4) with a very low coefficient of friction.

Faro Arm Styli
Q-Mark makes a complete selection of replacement styli for Faro arm CMMs. We also manufacture and M5 thread adapter that allows the use of any M5 threaded stylus in our catalog. Choose from ruby ball probes, disk probes, silicon nitride ball probes, cylinder probes, or any other configuration you need.

Gear Checker Styli
Q-Mark makes probe tips for all major gear checkers, including Hofler and Klingelnberg. We make them with ruby, steel, carbide, or silicon nitride balls. Please contact us with your requirements.

Deflection Calculator™
Our deflection calculator makes it easy to calculate stylus deflection. Simply enter the shaft diameter, wall thickness (if tube), and free shaft length. Enter the probing force in grams, newtons, or ounces, and then select the shaft material from the drop-down box.

Replacement Spheres
We replace damaged, lost, or broken spheres on any Q-Mark stylus with a 0.6 mm sphere or larger if the stem is still intact. Simply ship the part and your contact information to us. We'll clean the part and cement a new sphere on it.
